We are currently looking for a Mechanical Specialist / Sr. Mechanical Specialist for our Dubach, LA office.

This position is to maintain Boardwalk’s reciprocating engines at the Sharon station and Haughton by providing engine repair, trouble shooting, mechanical improvement, along with assisting in other areas when needed. The mechanical specialist will work closely with station personnel and the area admin to improve the reliability and efficiency of the compressor station. Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., a minimum of 50 ft. to transport equipment upstairs into the engine room. Also, you must endure a hot, humid and noisy working environment. The successful candidate will be expected to be on call and respond to phone calls when needs arise. Successful Candidate will be required to live within 30 driving miles of the Sharon, LA Compressor station in order to respond to emergency / call out situations in a timely manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer’s equipment manuals
• Strong computer skills, Word, Excel and familiarity with CMMS system for maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision,
• Must have valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Mechanical experience working on compressor station engines and compressors
• Mechanical knowledge of 2 and 4-stroke, slow and high-speed engines and compressors
• Good troubleshooting skills

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of Mechanical experience with natural gas engines and compressors

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• Technical Degree in mechanical or electrical science
