Mechanical Site Engineer

Location: Athens - Greece

Reporting: Construction Manager

Hill International is seeking mechanical site engineers for ongoing projects in Athens, Greece. The role involves supervising construction site activities to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, and safety standards while collaborating closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include resource management, identifying and coordinating the required raw materials and manpower, and maintaining detailed project documentation in compliance with local regulations. The engineer will address technical challenges causing delays and provide innovative solutions to maintain project timelines. Adherence to environmental standards and proactive management of subcontractors are key aspects of this position.

  • Understanding the construction plan of the project.
  • Determining the time constraints to complete the job.
  • Identifying the raw material and manpower required.
  • Ensuring the raw materials used are as per the specifications.
  • Supervising along with the contractor the construction site.
  • Managing daily activities on the site.
  • Ensuring the subcontractors are following the blueprints.
  • Working in collaboration with engineers, architects, contractors, and other team members.
  • Coming up with technical solutions for problems that are causing a delay in the projects.
  • Maintaining the documentation of the construction projects.
  • Filing documents to the local jurisdiction as and when required.
  • Adhering to all the environmental and safety standards.
  • A university degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction.
  • Working experience in infrastructure and/or building projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professional knowledge of the English language
  • The candidate should be based in or be eligible to work in Greece and be fluent in the Greek language.
