The Opportunity

A national multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working across residential, commercial, and mission critical infrastructure seeks a Mechanical Services Engineer to join its growing team. The successful candidate will contribute to a strong pipeline of projects for high-profile clients across Australia, including data centres and other mission critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver design, documentation, and engineering support for mechanical services (HVAC, building systems) in residential, commercial, and mission-critical projects
  • Work collaboratively with electrical, fire, and sustainability specialists to deliver innovative, efficient building solutions
  • Provide input from concept design through to construction phase, including site inspections and commissioning
  • Liaise with architects, builders, and subcontractors to resolve technical challenges and maintain project schedules
  • Participate in value engineering, technical analysis, and performance reviews to optimise building systems
  • Support the development of high-performance solutions for data centre and mission-critical assets

Key Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical services for building projects (min. 3 years preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC design, sustainability standards (Green Star, NABERS), and BCA/NCC codes
  • Experience with mission critical/data centre projects highly regarded
  • Proficient in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CAMEL)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships concurrently
