Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Manager to join our Data Centre team in Portugal.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical and civil construction activities are performed in accordance with the project specifications, plans, and codes, reporting to the quality and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Identify and seek resolution of quality issues.
  • Supervise inspections and witness testing to verify that works are meeting standards.
  • Validate and maintain quality control on the project platform.
  • Work with the project team to develop and implement corrective action plans
  • Communicate quality control and site issues to the quality and project managers.
  • Assist in the verification of progress claimed by contractors.
  • Maintain a daily site diary for progress.
  • Represent the OR in trade-to-trade handovers.
  • Participate in client’s safety observation system.

Qualifications

  • Degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a supervising capacity on large scale construction projects
  • Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other construction project management tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and great communication.
  • Proactive and focused on continuous improvement, including providing well-thought out solutions.
