Reporting to the Director of Project Engineering, the successful candidate will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective automated manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Coordinates and supervises manufacturing launch for new or revised products. High energy, a strong sense of curiosity and hands-on mechanical experience is required.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes and product designs
• Evaluates business cases for new manufacturing processes and product designs, presents recommendations to upper management
• Creates new designs to solve difficult manufacturing problems
• Designs or sources production equipment, robotic systems and automation equipment
• Prepares detailed CAD models and drawings to facilitate fabrication

Qualifications

Qualifications of the Position Include:

• 5 years of progressive manufacturing/mechanical engineering experience in a manufactured products environment
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment
• Experience designing machines and machine components including but not limited to shafts, bearings, motors, frames, fixturing, etc.
• Direct experience with 2 or more of the following manufacturing processes: forging, stamping, casting, welding, machining, assembly and injection molding.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team orientation
