Job Description

Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering services company with over 30 years of experience, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also supports its clients in engineering studies and the assembly coordination of industrial equipment.

As part of our expanding activities on major energy infrastructure projects, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Planner (m/f) to join our Integrated Planning team.

Position overview & Context:

Reporting directly to the Area Lead Planner, the Mechanical Planner plays a key role within the Integrated Planning team covering Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Construction, and Commissioning for the Mechanical Scope of Work across Unit 1 & Unit 2 Nuclear Island (NI), Conventional Island, and Balance of Plant (CI/BOP).

You will be accountable for mechanical planning accuracy, productivity, schedule baseline maintenance, and managing key supply chain interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

This role actively drives the HPC critical success factors:

  • Integrated baseline delivery
  • Lifecycle critical path execution
  • Milestone achievement leading to Commercial Operation Date (COD)

Key Responsibilities :

  • Schedule Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain the mechanical schedule baseline integrated work schedule (IWS) with fully logic-linked work plans aligned with the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Integrated Framework & Alignment: Drive an Integrated Planning framework from Level 1 strategic views down to Level 5 detailed execution plans for the mechanical scope.
  • Change & Trend Control: Apply the Trend & Change process within the schedule, conduct project-level analysis, generate KPIs, and evaluate risks and opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Reporting & Challenge: Produce and update area schedule reports for key stakeholders. Review and challenge delivery/schedule reporting impacting strategic project milestones.
  • Risk Integration: Support area management in evaluating risks and opportunities associated with mechanical works using evidence-based analysis.
  • Governance & Information Security: Adhere strictly to project scheduling standards and ensure full protection and marking of Sensitive Nuclear Information according to client procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Education: Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a Planning team for mechanical works within a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear or energy).
  • Methodologies: Practical experience with Integrated Planning frameworks on major infrastructure projects and practical understanding of EPC methods in a UK context.

Knowledge, Skills & Software Tools :

  • Software Tools: Deep working knowledge of Primavera P6, Synchro (4D modelling), Acumen Fuse, Power BI, and Teamcenter.
  • Contractual & Controls Awareness: Understanding of NEC and FIDIC contract suites, Earned Value Analysis (EVA), Schedule Risk Analysis techniques, and interfaces with Cost, Estimating, and Risk disciplines.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey complex schedule issues simply to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
