Sensori is seeking a proactive Mechanical Foreperson to lead on-site mechanical activities at our Dublin location. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who takes ownership of their workload, drives teams to meet deadlines, and maintains high standards for safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain and close out project safety documentation; review contractor safety submissions; monitor on-site EHS performance and drive corrective actions.
- Create and manage the mechanical QA record set; assess subcontractor QA submissions; enforce workmanship standards and verification activities.
- Develop and maintain the mechanical workstream schedule aligned with engineering, client milestones and the wider project plan; provide regular progress updates.
- Own the mechanical cost ledger including labour, materials, plant, variations and interim valuations; coordinate with Sensori’s commercial team to capture and invoice changes.
- Supervise daily mechanical activities, manage interfaces with other trades and resolve on-site conflicts to keep works flowing.
- Plan and monitor subcontractor output, manpower and productivity; chair weekly progress meetings and record actions.
- Operate the project snagging process for mechanical scopes; ensure supervisors submit punch lists and that items are closed in a timely manner.
- Submit direct labour and subcontractor hours for central timekeeping; produce weekly labour forecasts and safety statistics.
- Represent Sensori at site meetings, internal reviews, engineering and handover sessions; escalate risks and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate final account activities and handover deliverables (O&M manuals, as-built records, safety and QA files, plant/material demobilisation).
- Prepare concise weekly progress reports showing percent complete by work package, highlight delays, risks (e.g., late deliveries) and outstanding design or third-party issues.
- Ensure programme and cost impacts from changes are assessed, documented and approved through formal change management.
- Help refine Sensori procedures and implement best-practice site processes with your team.
- Perform other duties required to successfully deliver the mechanical package.
Experience
- Qualification — trade certification or relevant third-level qualification in engineering, construction management or similar.
- Experience — 5+ years delivering medium-to-large mechanical installation projects with proven site leadership.
- Demonstrable track record of coordinating multi-discipline installation works and driving projects to completion.
- Strong working knowledge of construction H&S requirements and safety file management.
- Familiarity with integrated design and build delivery models.
- Practical understanding of mechanical systems and a working awareness of electrical interfaces.
- Comfortable managing budgets, variations and interim valuations.
- Competent with project reporting tools and MS Office; able to produce clear, data-driven progress reports.
- Excellent verbal and written skills; able to lead teams under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, fast-moving site programmes.
