We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to be the on-site representative of NVIDIA Israel's mechanical department at our Foxconn manufacturing site in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. As our person on the ground, you will be the technical reference for every mechanical question, issue and decision that comes up on the production floor, from early engineering builds through ramp and mass production. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with Foxconn engineering, quality and manufacturing teams, and act as the bridge to our design, reliability and program teams back in Israel. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role for someone who likes living next to the hardware, owns problems end-to-end, and is comfortable making real-time calls on the line.
NVIDIA Networking division is a leading supplier of innovative end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet connectivity solutions and services for servers and storage. We offer market-leading solutions that include adapter cards, switches, cables, and software to support networking technologies. Our products optimize data center performance and deliver industry-leading bandwidth and scalability. In addition, we serve a wide range of sectors including high-performance computing, enterprise, data centers, cloud computing and Web 2.0. We are constantly reinventing ourselves to stay ahead of the market and bring groundbreaking products and services to the industry. Our product line is focused on delivering the most optimized Ethernet and optical solutions for industries that can benefit from accelerated networking at scale.
What you'll be doing:
Acting as the on-site mechanical point of contact representing NVIDIA Israel's mechanical department at the Foxconn Bac Ninh site, owning the daily mechanical agenda across active programs.
Investigating mechanical issues, escalations and yield blockers on the production floor, applying structured root-cause methods such as fishbone and fault-tree analysis, with documented corrective actions.
Leading failure analysis on builds, line returns and qualification samples, including inspection, microscopy, dimensional metrology, cross-section, contamination and assembly-process analysis.
Planning and running mechanical experiments and structured design-of-experiments on-site, aligning test plans with the Israel team, executing on the floor, and reporting results back.
Escorting bring-ups, pilot runs and production builds, present on the line to make real-time mechanical decisions and capture build learnings.
Reporting daily and weekly status, build reports and improvement actions to mechanical, quality and program leadership in Israel.
What we need to see:
Engineering diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanical engineer in similar roles, such as datacom, server, networking, datacenter, or comparably complex electronic hardware products.
Hands-on experience at a contract manufacturer or original design manufacturer site in new product introduction, ramp or mass-production environments.
Track record leading failure analysis investigations from symptom to verified root cause, with documented corrective actions.
Strong command of mechanical inspection and metrology, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, gauges and dimensional analysis.
Proficiency reading and reviewing mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, NX or Creo) and engineering drawings.
Willingness and ability to be based on-site in Bac Ninh long-term, with extended stays and frequent presence on the manufacturing floor.
Independent, structured problem-solver, comfortable owning ambiguous failures, making decisions on the line and following the evidence.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior on-site experience at Foxconn or another major Asian contract manufacturer or original design manufacturer.
Experience working in cleanroom environments.
New product introduction experience taking products from early engineering builds through mass production, including ramp and yield improvement on the line.
