Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Water Cup Production Line

Job Purpose
Perform hands-on preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on high-speed thermoforming/Form-Fill-Seal water cup production machines. The technician will inspect, service, repair, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment throughout the complete cup-forming, filling, sealing, cutting, and discharge process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to approved checklists.
- Respond quickly to production-line breakdowns and restore equipment safely.
- Inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical components.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and align machine parts and assemblies.
- Check film feeding, heating, forming, filling, sealing, cutting, and discharge stations.
- Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, timing belts, seals, guides, and other wear parts.
- Service shafts, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic cylinders, and valves.
- Assist with mold changes, machine setup, alignment, and trial production.
- Identify abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, wear, leakage, and misalignment.
- Report developing defects and required spare parts to senior maintenance personnel.
- Record completed work, replaced components, and observed machine conditions.
- Support major maintenance, overhauls, installations, and shutdown activities.
- Work with production operators to identify and correct machine-related quality problems.
- Maintain tools and keep maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety, food-hygiene, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Requirements
Required Technical Experience
Candidates should have strong practical knowledge of:
- Thermoforming stations and molds
- Plastic-film feeding, tracking, and tension systems
- Heating systems and heating zones
- Vacuum systems
- Pneumatic cylinders, valves, and air-control components
- Filling mechanisms, pumps, and filling nozzles
- Lid-film feeding and alignment systems
- Heat-sealing stations
- Cutting and punching systems
- Cup-discharge mechanisms
- Bearings, chains, sprockets, and timing belts
- Shafts, couplings, and gearboxes
- Linear guides and mechanical slides
- Conveyors and pumps
- Lubrication and preventive maintenance
Candidates must be able to assist in diagnosing and correcting:
- Poor or incomplete cup forming
- Film misalignment, slipping, or incorrect tension
- Water leakage or incorrect filling volume
- Weak, uneven, or incomplete sealing
- Cutting and punching problems
- Machine timing and synchronization faults
- Abnormal vibration, noise, wear, or overheating
- Repeated machine stoppages
Experience with Thermonox, Beta-Pak, or technically similar high-speed machines is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience on thermoforming/FFS cup production machines.
- Strong mechanical fitting and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use standard maintenance tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic ability to read drawings, equipment manuals, and parts diagrams.
- Ability to work safely under pressure during production breakdowns.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and emergency maintenance when required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a maintenance team.
Critical Selection Requirement
This is a specialized production-line maintenance position. Applicants whose experience is limited to bottled-water filling lines, RO plants, automotive maintenance, building maintenance, or general factory maintenance will not qualify unless they also possess direct thermoforming/FFS water cup production-machine experience.
