We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in Ndola , Zambia

Job Purpose: To Coordinate and supervise the maintenance activies at site, ensuring operational performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • To Supervise Maintenance activities at site, coordinating, instructing and scheduling work of team members and resources in order to meet the targets and deadlines set.
  • To Lead the Maintenance team and provide training, guidance and support, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment. Directing all personnel actions. Ensuring that all team members receive required instructions in safety procedures, proper use of equipment, performance standards, disciplinary processes, and other workplace and company policies, procedures and practices.
  • To Oversee and ensure that all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and company guidelines, processes and policies.
  • To Manage the availability of tools, parts, and resources required for maintenance tasks.
  • To Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve issues and continuously improve processes.

Knowledge and Experience: Possesses comprehensive operational knowledge and applies it to effectively coordinate shift activities.

  • Business Impact: Responsible for supervising Maintenance Technicians with a direct impact on team efficiency and adherence to deadlines.
  • Innovation and Change: Identifying and implementing improvements to shift processes, contributing to maintenance efficiency.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Leading a team, coordinating activities and providing direction and support to ensure successful completion of given tasks.
  • Communication and Networking: Communicating with a range of internal and external contacts to facilitate the smooth execution of assigned duties.

Education & experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience
  • Handson working experience in any Wartsila engines
