On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.
BYD Hungary is a subsidiary of BYD, which is an important part of BYD's international business in response to Hungarian customers and the whole European market. As an essential part of the new energy field, BYD's battery business opening up all linkes in the entire industrial chain of energy from harvesting to storage, to application.
1. Shift Operation Support
Start-up confirmation: After taking over the shift, inspect key bottleneck equipment and confirm that all issues left from the previous shift have been closed
Task assignment: Upon receiving a repair request, assign tasks to team members based on priority and urgency; personally handle the most critical or difficult faults
Interruption management: For any fault that has not been resolved within 15 minutes, go to the site to take over diagnostics, quickly locate the root cause, and direct the repair
2. Shift Handover and Information Synchronization
Pre-shift meeting: Brief the team on major faults, the production plan for the current shift, and equipment requiring special attention.
Written handover: Fill in or review the Shift Handover Log, clearly documenting outstanding issues, spare parts consumption, and tool locations
Cross-shift collaboration: Verbally inform the next shift leader of the current equipment status and ongoing technical issues.
3. Safety and Compliance Enforcement
LOTO supervision: Ensure that team members apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when performing mechanical clearing of jams or electrical repairs
Work inspection: Spot-check that safety guards, light curtains, emergency stop buttons, and other protective devices are properly restored after maintenance.
Abnormality reporting: Immediately stop operations and report any safety hazards that could cause incidents.
4. On-site Management and Resource Coordination
Tool & spare parts management: Ensure spare parts and tools are properly logged, used, and returned.
Emergency coordination: Coordinate spare parts and engineer support, estimate completion times, and communicate with warehouse management
6S management: Ensure proper workplace organization, including tool management, waste removal, and clean maintenance areas
5. Team Discipline and On-the-job Guidance
Discipline supervision: Manage team members’ attendance, on-duty status, repair efficiency, and repair quality
Immediate mentoring: Provide on-the-job training, explain troubleshooting and diagnostic thinking, and support the development of new team members through real-world technical situations.
Perform other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor that are within the scope of qualifications and responsibilities, in compliance with all statutory requirements and internal company regulations
Education
High school diploma or above
Majors in Electronic Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical Automation, or related fields are preferred.
Work Experience
At least 3 years of non-standard automation maintenance experience
At least 1 year of experience as an Acting Shift Leader or experience in mentoring apprentices
Basic understanding of electrical program logic
Proficient in computer systems and applications
Certificates
Regular Electrician License required, including experience with electrical circuits and electrical repairs
Experience in electrical program maintenance is preferred.
Competences & Skills
Fluent English as a working language, including work reporting, email communication, and meeting discussions
Chinese language skills are an advantage
Results-driven professional with a strong work ethic and excellent execution skills
Strong on-site problem-solving skills in equipment maintenance
Understanding of warehousing logic
