- Job Scope Summary
A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/outage leader ensures the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and equipment through inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, corrective and condition-based maintenance.
He also is responsible, under supervision and guidance of Senior Mechanical Engineer and Maintenance Manager to organize, prepare and execute all planned outage (boilers and later steam turbine).
- Job Responsibilities
- Lead and organize (with the scheduler and with support of other maintenance engineers) all planned boiler outages: scope definition, planning, contractor selection, preparation, implementation, commissioning, reporting.
- Supervise and manage contractors during outage and for other projects
- Ensure all safety rules are followed during outages
- Set maintenance and optimize maintenance program (preventive and condition-based maintenance) based on OEM guidelines, experience, best industry practices and monitoring data's (inspection, test, reports,..) to insure best availability targets within budget
- Collaborate with other maintenance engineers and production teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability
- Participate in budget preparation by suggesting actions and priorities with risk/benefit evaluation
- Prepare and write clear scope of work
- Participate with procurement in tender and contractor selection process
- Follow and implement safety rules and safety awareness culture all time
- Attend HSE / ISO Inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety, ,
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime
- Participate and perform MOC (Management of Change) under guidance of senior maintenance Engineers
- Organize /support repair or replacement of faulty mechanical components-
- Maintaining proper records of equipment installations, malfunctions, maintenance and repairs
- Educational / Professional Qualification / Training Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- HSE accredited training qualifications preferred
- Job Experience
- Must have at least 5 years as a Mechanical Engineer, with substantial experience in one or more of the following specialties: welding, fabrication or rotating equipment
- Must have experience with boiler, turbine, plant major turn around / outages
- Must be knowledgeable in using a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) and other related software
- Familiar with HSE standards, procedures and requirements and control plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Familiar with industrial safety requirements related to pressurized gasses, chemicals, and lasers
- Familiar with main Waste-To-Energy assets: boiler, pressure parts, pressure vessels, boiler grate system belt and chain conveyors, cranes, pumps, compressors, fans, exchangers, storage tanks, piping.
- Experience in Waste-to-Energy, or power generation or continuous-fire industries is a plus
