Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment and plant utility systems. The position supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment, utility systems, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, piping networks, conveyors, and other mechanical assets. The key focus is to minimize equipment downtime, improve operational efficiency, ensure workplace safety, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

What You Will Do

  • Perform daily inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment, utilities systems, and plant machinery.

  • Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

  • Ensure smooth operation of plant utility equipment such as air compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, cooling towers, water treatment systems, conveyors, and exhaust systems.

  • Respond promptly to emergency equipment failures and support restoration of operations.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.

  • Perform installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.

  • Assist in maintaining machine ownership records and equipment history.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety, health, and environmental requirements.

  • Supervise contractors and vendors performing mechanical maintenance or project work within the facility.

  • Support facility and production-related projects to ensure completion according to specifications and schedules.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment optimization, and cost-saving projects.

  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain proper inventory control.

  • Carry out routine inspections on pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, piping systems, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Record equipment abnormalities, maintenance activities, and inspection findings in maintenance logs and reports.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating plant shutdown maintenance activities.

  • Support energy-saving initiatives and equipment efficiency improvement programs.

  • Maintain mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.

  • Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analysis reports, and project progress updates.

  • Work effectively with production, facilities, EHS, and maintenance teams to support manufacturing goals.

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in emergency response activities involving plant equipment and utility systems.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians when required.

What You Will Need

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and utility equipment.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement practices.

  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings, P&ID, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.

  • Understanding of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements in an industrial environment.

  • Experience in plant utilities, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and water treatment systems is an added advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively during equipment emergencies.

  • Willing to work shifts, overtime, and on-call support when required.

  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
