Barren River Lake State Resort Park if a beautiful facility that will allow you to utilize your skills in the maintenance area while enjoying great people and breath-taking scenery. Barren River is complete with a lodge, Restaurant, Pub, Lodging Rooms, Cottages, Villas, 18 Hole Golf Course, Beach, 99 Site Campground, Marina, Recreation activities, walking and biking trails, tennis courts, volleyball courts and playgrounds.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park is currently seeking a MMOT I. This is an amazing opportunity for someone to join and work with the parks Maintenance department. If you are a team player and enjoy repairing items, delivering great customer service and working in a fun environment then our Maintenance team is waiting for you. Functioning duties would include the repairing items on and throughout the park, conducting preventive maintenance, maintaining items and areas at the lodge, restaurant, campground, beach, rooms, cottages and villas. Duties would also include delivering the very best customer service to all park guest. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person.

Barren River State Resort Park is located near Kentucky’s famous cave area, which includes Mammoth Cave National Park, the longest cave system in the world. Surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills, the lodge overlooks the beautiful 10,000-acre lake.

Duties of the MMOT I position would include:

  • The repairing of items on and throughout the park.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Maintaining items and areas at the lodge, restaurant, campground, beach, rooms, cottages and villas.
  • Delivering the very best customer service to all park guest.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in any additional duties that may occur.

The MMOT 1 Maintenance position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual who will be a part of a challenging environment and critical team member to help this State Park not only maintain but improve its offerings to our guests.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
