Role details:
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our West Croydon Glass Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift 7am – 3.30pm, working a 9-day fortnight. Working in the Production Maintenance Department and reporting to the Production Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring our production can run smoothly and efficiently.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
  • Diagnose faults and problem‑solve independently.
  • Assist with machine set up for Job Changeover process.
  • Working with the production & manufacturing teams to resolve issues with minimal downtime.
  • Contribute to project work, including installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Further to this, you may be required to assist in general plant maintenance duties to support the wider Plant Reliability Team.

What you’ll bring:

  • Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications with experience in an industrial environment, preferably fast-paced and automated.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Good hand eye coordination and ability to solve problems.
  • Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to think outside the box when resolving breakdowns and working autonomously.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety.
