About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our depot maintenance team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a critical part in keeping our plant and processing equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You’ll work on a wide range of heavy industrial machinery and be supported with ongoing training and development to broaden your technical capability and progress your career.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to ensure maximum plant uptime
• Diagnose and fault-find mechanical issues across a range of heavy plant and fixed processing equipment
• Work on conveyors, shredders, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems
• Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ensure all work is completed safely, in line with company procedures and H&S standards
• Work closely with operations to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance
About You
• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience on heavy machinery and plant equipment
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred
