Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family
Our Mechanical Engineering team is growing and we’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator based in either Tauranga or Auckland to join us.
This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer or Manager who is looking to move into a more office based role with enhanced work life balance.
You will be familiar with the construction processes ideally within water treatment and wastewater treatment industries, with at least 5 years exposure to site and/or workshop environments. Act as a visualiser for how works will be physically constructed, assigning durations to each part of the work sequence and determining the labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and overheads required.
You’ll typically be pricing 1–2 tenders at a time, with a usual tender period of around 8 weeks. Tenders are generally delivered by a team made up of an estimator (pricing), bid manager (methodology and programme), tender writer (client correspondence and bid assembly), and managers who review and sign off the final submission.
Being able to cooperate well with others, be transparent with your capabilities and progress especially on large projects – supported by the Lead Mechanical Estimator.

Ko wai mātou | About us
Fulton Hogan is an integrated infrastructure, construction and services business working across New Zealand and Australia. We partner with clients and communities to design, build, operate and maintain critical assets – from bitumen and quarries to roads, water and energy. Our people are united by a simple purpose: to create, connect and care for communities, while reducing environmental impact and supporting more sustainable futures.
Good Work here means high expectations and low ego. We’re open, friendly and forward‑moving – you’ll be working alongside people who back you, not people who hide behind titles. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and we’re always looking for smarter, more sustainable ways to deliver infrastructure for the communities we serve.
