This is a remote position.
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design, analysis, and technical leadership for nuclear-related engineering projects. This role is focused on piping, equipment, heat transfer, code compliance, and oversight of mechanical engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
-
Lead mechanical engineering work for nuclear facility, power, or complex industrial projects.

Develop and review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical design documents.

Support design of piping systems, mechanical equipment, thermal systems, and related plant components.

Perform or review engineering analysis involving stress, pressure, heat transfer, flow, equipment loads, and system performance.

Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, I&C, project management, procurement, and construction teams.

Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project specifications.

Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

Support design reviews, client meetings, field questions, RFIs, submittals, and engineering change activities.

Identify technical risks, resolve design issues, and maintain quality across engineering deliverables.
Required Experience
-
Mechanical engineering experience in nuclear, power, energy, heavy industrial, or highly regulated engineering environments.

Strong background in mechanical design, analysis, piping systems, equipment, and thermal systems.

Experience applying engineering codes, standards, calculations, specifications, and design procedures.

Ability to lead technical work, review deliverables, and coordinate with multi-discipline project teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients, engineers, and project stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
-
PE license preferred.

Nuclear industry experience strongly preferred.

Experience with ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NRC, NQA-1, or related nuclear and mechanical codes and standards.

Background with piping stress, pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, HVAC, fluid systems, or plant mechanical equipment.

Experience mentoring engineers or leading mechanical design packages.
