Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership in the operation and optimisation of mechanical systems across a hyperscale data centre environment. The role is hands-on and advisory, focused on ensuring system reliability, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation and performance of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, CRAC units, and mechanical infrastructure
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and recommend performance enhancements
• Support the development of standard operating procedures and technical documentation
• Act as a key technical stakeholder in system upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning activities
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance
• Collaborate closely with facilities, project, and vendor teams to deliver reliable operations

Requirements:

• Advanced qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field
• Solid experience with mechanical infrastructure in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centres, hospitals, or commercial buildings)
• Strong understanding of HVAC design, maintenance, and operational principles
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and assess performance data.
• Comfortable working in a technically complex and fast-moving operational setting
