Job Description

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently looking for Mechanical Engineer (Reliability) - Expression of Interest (KZ passport holders) to join our team in Atyrau, Kazakhstan

• design, specification, selection and services relating to mechanical equipment such as rotating machinery, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, utility equipment, packaged units, material handling and solids processing systems;
• may also include design, specification, selection and services of mechanical systems for buildings such as gases, fluids, and heating, ventilating, air conditioning and vertical transportation;
• under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications;
• devises new approaches to problems encountered;
• plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria;
• performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements;
• liaises with other design disciplines and equipment manufacturers on all mechanical related issued and acts as decisions maker on general aspects of packaged equipment design;
• job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations;
• English to Russian translation support of electrical technical documents produced by subcontractors / vendors, etc.;

• higher (technical) education;
• work experience in the respective position no less than 5 year
• ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists;
• proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates;
• professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution;
• professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards;
• technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards;
• demonstrated skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation and communication;
• shall know and use catalogues of electrical materials in order to provide technically correct MRs, review and check technical offers.
