
STV is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our COE division based in Miami, FL. This position includes new design, rehabilitation, and field inspection for movable bridges. HVAC, and plumbing and/or fire protection design is a plus, but not a requirement. The successful candidate will be a mid or upper-level mechanical engineer experienced with designing either HVAC, fire protection and plumbing or movable bridges who is willing to learn new mechanical engineering tasks and is looking to advance their careers. The ideal candidate should have the communication/ writing skills experience to work with a team of mechanical engineers in the design of new/rehabilitation of movable bridge projects and/or HVAC design in Florida.
Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure consistency in project quality
Follow direction from senior staff, and direct the work of junior staff
Ensure that work is completed within budgetary constraints and expectations
Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients and other stakeholders
Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creativity
Develop and review plans, calculations, technical specifications, contract documents and estimates
Be able to perform field bridge inspection and travel 25% of the time (may be required
Specific Education and Experience Requirements:
10+ years of related work experience in mechanical design in related projects.
BS and a Professional Engineering License in Mechanical Engineering is required and is an ABSOLUTE MUST!
Movable Bridge experience is not a requirement if you are licensed with an HVAC background.
Technical experience in the area of movable bridge design and/or HVAC Design
Familiarity with mechanical codes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit/MicroStation and mechanical design software is a must
Compensation Range:
$124,726.29 - $142,544.33
