consulting engineering firms! BBA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT)
to help us pursue our growth and strategic objectives in Canada’s natural
resource and renewable energy industries. You’ll work alongside industry
experts committed to your professional development and gain hands-on experience
that accelerates your path toward becoming a Professional Engineer.

You’ll be involved in all phases of engineering projects,
from front-end studies to field implementations, with a focus on detailed
engineering. You’ll also receive mentorship, technical coaching and exposure to
increasingly complex engineering challenges.

By delivering high-quality service and maintaining
positive relationships with colleagues and clients, you’ll actively contribute
to mechanical and piping engineering projects in BC, nationally and
internationally as required. As part of our growing Vancouver office, you’ll
join a fun and collaborative team that works together to deliver fast-paced
projects.

  • Perform detailed engineering based on codes, standards and industry best practices for projects such as carbon capture and hydroelectric plants (penstocks, hydromechanical equipment, balance of plant), heavy industrial plants (process, piping) and mining processing plants (material handling, crushers, conveyors, pumping, piping, equipment selection)
  • Apply engineering principles, analysis methods and calculation tools to solve real-world mechanical and piping design challenges
  • Present technical information and concepts to other team members
  • Aid more experienced personnel in the technical aspects of complex tasks
  • Participate in site inspections, condition assessments and testing
  • Receive mentorship and coaching from intermediate and senior engineers
  • Collaborate with other EITs and multidisciplinary teams

of certifications and job
requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • High academic performance (top 10% of graduating class)
  • New graduate or EIT with up to two years’ experience
  • Available for site work and short- to medium-term assignments
  • Registered EIT with EGBC within three months of hiring
  • Valid driver’s licence within six months of hiring
  • Asset: bilingual (English and either French or Spanish)
