Our Team
PCoE-Robotics
Your Opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineer in PCoE -Robotics, you will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and qualification of complex automation and robotics subsystems used in semiconductor equipment. This role requires strong technical depth in robotics, mechanism design, subsystem integration, and engineering analysis, along with the ability to work independently on complex problems and make sound engineering judgments based on multiple sources of information.
You will serve as a technical resource within the team, contribute to subsystem ownership from design through validation, and work across mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and supplier teams to resolve issues and drive robust engineering outcomes. In this senior-level role, you will also support less experienced engineers through technical guidance and mentoring, while contributing to small project leadership and cross-functional alignment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Own the design and development of complex automation and robotics subsystems, supporting engineering projects that require integration across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software domains. Serve as the design engineering authority for defined sub-modules, determining hardware and software specifications, detailed designs, and working parameters to ensure subsystem compatibility and performance. Complete detailed design of components and assemblies such as material handling robots, transfer mechanisms, substrate transfer and storage modules, and associated electrical/control subsystems including motion controllers. Conduct detailed engineering analysis of robotic and automation subsystems using kinematics, dynamics, mechanism design, synthesis, and other analytical methods to resolve complex technical issues. Build, evaluate, and qualify prototypes of new designs, or work with outsourced suppliers to procure subsystems and verify compliance with detailed specifications and performance requirements. Plan, execute, and coordinate testing in line with internal standards and industry-accepted reliability specifications, and drive design or operational changes based on test outcomes. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex engineering issues related to operability, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, and system integration. Drive interface alignment across automation modules and related subsystems such as robotics, loadlocks, process chambers, controls, and integration hardware to support successful system assembly and final testing. Independently manage defined subsystem or module-level workstreams, exercising judgment based on design analysis, test data, field inputs, manufacturability considerations, and cross-functional feedback. Act as a technical resource for less experienced engineers by providing guidance, coaching, and support in design practices, analysis methods, and problem-solving approaches. Lead or contribute to small cross-functional projects with manageable risk and resource requirements, building alignment across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and supplier partners. Provide remote technical support to field teams and internal stakeholders as required, including explanation of complex or sensitive technical issues and recommended actions. Contribute to the Product Development Process by supporting design reviews, technical decisions, documentation quality, and readiness for production release.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in robotics automation engineering along with the judgment and independence expected at a senior professional level. This person is comfortable solving complex problems, working across disciplines, and operating with minimal guidance in most situations.
