At HMH we value our employees. We offer exciting job opportunities that will give you the opportunity to grow in your role and give you the professional development you deserve. In addition to competitive pay and benefits, you will join a casual and inclusive work environment. Our environment is based on respect and having a good day at work, so you can expect to join a knowledgeable, global team who help each other to succeed.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our team within engineering and product development.

Join us in our quest to solve tomorrow’s challenges and innovate our future!

What will you be doing in this role?
As a Mechanical Engineer – Equipment Design, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical equipment within our product portfolio. You will work closely with experienced engineers and take part in both new development and continuous improvement of existing solutions.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Machine and equipment design
  • 3D modelling of components and assemblies
  • Preparation of 2D drawings for manufacturing and documentation
  • Development of technical solutions within our product portfolio
  • Creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Preparation of technical documentation
  • Support design improvements and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a strong technical interest in mechanical design and engineering, and are motivated to learn and develop your engineering skills.
Furthermore, we hope that you enjoy working hands‑on with design, models, and drawings and are up for taking a proactive and solution‑oriented approach to technical challenges.

We believe your educational background is within mechanical engineering or similar.

We also think it is advantageous that you hold the following qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D design tools (experience with Creo / Pro‑ENGINEER is an advantage)
  • Experience preparing 2D drawings (experience with AutoCAD is an advantage)
  • Understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles
  • Ability to identify practical and effective technical solutions
  • Strong working proficiency in both spoken and written English

Should you not tick all these boxes, we still encourage you to apply – but we are looking for you who can tell us in the application how your work experiences and education is of relevance for this role, why you would be a great fit, and what your most notable and relevant strengths are.

We focus on relevant skills and experiences rather than years of experience or whether you hold a bachelor's degree or master’s degree.

What can you expect in return?

Besides the typical things, such as flexible working hours, pension and insurance, subsidized and varied lunch menu, free parking, and a great company culture, we can also offer you:

  • A diverse and inclusive work environment where people are genuinely helpful, and where you are encouraged to develop your skills and share your knowledge
  • An opportunity to contribute to and influence the future of HMH
  • A positive attitude towards your career development in a company who values internal mobility and continuous development
  • Joining a very experienced and highly skilled mechanical engineering environment, where the learning opportunities are great
  • A great opportunity for recent graduates or those in their early career stage to gain hands-on experience in equipment design

Workplace: Kristiansand, Norway
