What we are looking for:

As the Mechanical Engineer – CNC Programmer you will be responsible for the accurate and timely
programming of Jardan CNC Timber Furniture Machines, providing technical support to operators, overseeing quality outcomes from the machines, troubleshooting problems and overseeing equipment efficiency targets. The role is based onsite at our HQ in Scoresby.

What the role entails:

  • Develop, program and refine CNC machining processes for timber components across 3 & 5 axis
    machines
  • Design and engineer CNC jigs, fixtures and work holding solutions to improve repeatability,
    accuracy and throughput
  • Create and modify CAD models to ensure components are optimised for manufacturability (DFM) and CNC efficiency
  • Analyse and optimise toolpaths, cutting strategies and cycle times to improve quality, productivity and machine utilisation
  • Establish and maintain tooling strategies, including tool selection, tool life management and
    performance tracking
  • Monitor and analyse production data to identify opportunities for improvements in quality,
    efficiency and safety
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling and process issues using structured root cause analysis and
    implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to transition new product designs into stable,
    repeatable CNC processes
  • Work with Production and Operations teams to resolve quality issues and improve process
    consistency
  • Provide technical support and guidance to CNC operators, including development of standard
    operating procedures and training materials
  • Work with production to ensure CNC maintenance is carried out

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Extensive experience in CNC programming and operation
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC systems and processes
  • Proficient in CAD and CAM software systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Cross Functional collaborative skills
  • Capable of reading job sheets and drawings
  • High regard for safety requirements and participation in safety improvement initiatives
