This is an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer will see you in the Australian operation working at the Callide Mine in Biloela, Queensland.

EPSA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be permanently employed by the company on a full-time basis.

The role will be on a lifestyle friendly 38-hour roster between Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements.

About the role:

  • Manage the engineering control and technical availability of critical mechanical components required to support preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and operational continuity.

  • Oversee the technical management of maintenance support assets and critical spare components, ensuring alignment with equipment reliability objectives and maintenance engineering requirements.

  • Analyse maintenance requirements, equipment life-cycle data and reliability trends to determine engineering spare parts requirements and support long-term asset maintenance strategies.

  • Establish technical spare parts requirements based on reliability analysis, maintenance schedules, equipment criticality and operational risk assessments.

  • Define technical specifications and engineering requirements for mechanical components and spare parts, ensuring compliance with OEM standards and operational performance criteria.

  • Provide technical oversight for the selection and acquisition of mechanical components, ensuring compatibility with equipment design specifications and maintenance requirements.

  • Monitor equipment performance, maintenance effectiveness and asset reliability indicators, implementing engineering improvement initiatives to optimise operational efficiency and equipment availability.

  • Conduct reliability analysis of heavy mining equipment and develop engineering recommendations to improve equipment performance, availability and maintainability.

  • Lead root cause investigations of major mechanical failures and implement corrective engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Evaluate equipment life-cycle performance and recommend maintenance strategies, refurbishment programs and replacement plans to maximise asset value.

  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, maintenance procedures and technical specifications in accordance with OEM recommendations and industry best practices.

  • Review condition monitoring data, inspection reports and equipment health assessments to support proactive maintenance decision-making.

  • Assess opportunities for equipment modifications and engineering improvements to enhance safety, reliability and operational productivity.

  • Ensure maintenance systems, equipment modifications and engineering activities comply with manufacturer requirements, statutory regulations and company engineering standards.

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in engineering role.

  • Mining project experience including materials handling and process plants.

  • Understanding of hydraulic calculations and pumping systems (water as minimum and slurry preferred).

  • Proficiency in interpreting process documentation including P&ID’s, PFD’s and Process Design Criteria.

  • Ability to understand mechanical documentation, such as design drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor IOMs.

  • High computer literacy (operating systems, Office products, engineering tools).

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Be willing to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical.
