Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (All Levels) to join our engineering team in Adelaide, South Australia. This permanent, full-time role is critical to the design, development, and delivery of next-generation quantum and precision measurement systems. You will play a key role in supporting the full product lifecycle, from concept through to deployment, contributing to innovative solutions that have global impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Applying mechanical engineering principles across the full product lifecycle
  • Translating system requirements into robust, high-performance mechanical designs
  • Designing components and assemblies with consideration for manufacturability and integration
  • Creating 3D models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation
  • Selecting materials and surface treatments based on performance, cost, and environmental factors
  • Supporting prototyping, assembly, and production activities
  • Planning and conducting verification and validation testing
  • Analysing test data to improve reliability, manufacturability, and performance
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including systems, electronics, software, and physics
  • Supporting configuration management, change control, and technical documentation
  • Contributing to design reviews, risk identification, and continuous improvement

The role will scale based on experience, from supporting design and build activities through to leading projects and mentoring others.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in mechanical design and product development environments
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor desirable)
  • Proficiency in structural, thermal, and vibration (sine & random) analysis using ANSYS, with ability to translate simulation into design decisions
