Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and technical documentation of mechanical solutions supporting automated and industrial equipment. The role focuses on delivering robust, manufacturable, and cost-efficient mechanical designs aligned with project, quality, and operational requirements.

The position works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams, supporting product standardization, continuous improvement initiatives, and component localization activities to strengthen the integrated business processes within the Cardona facility.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Engineering

  • Develop mechanical designs and assemblies using 3D CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor or equivalent).
  • Create and maintain detailed CAD drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs meet functional, safety, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Support design reviews and engineering validation activities.
  • Contribute to product standardization and modular design initiatives.

Process & Manufacturing Support

  • Support manufacturing and assembly teams during build and implementation phases.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering support when required.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are aligned with manufacturing capabilities and operational efficiency and installation phases.

Supply Chain & Component Localization

  • Support Supply Chain in the identification and localization of key components and suppliers.
  • Ensure technical alignment between engineering requirements and supplier capabilities.
  • Contribute to cost optimization initiatives through design improvements and component standardization.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives.
  • Support engineering improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to strengthening integrated engineering and manufacturing processes within the site.

Required Qualitifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Solid mechanical engineering background within industrial or automation environments.
  • Strong experience in 3D CAD design, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
  • Ability to produce accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working in international and multidisciplinary environments is an advantage.
  • Fluent English required

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in automated machinery or industrial equipment design.
  • Understanding of supplier development and component sourcing processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Experience working in international and cross-functional environments
