Key Responsibilities:

  • Thorough working knowledge on solid modelling (Solid Edge), design calculations, analysis, pertaining to Electric actuators and Fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics) and Gear box or relevant industry.
  • Team player - Should be able to Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal teams in carrying out the task.
  • Review and approve technical documentation including 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and test reports.
  • Thorough knowledge in the standards applicable for the Electrical and fluid power actuators.
  • Review and maintain nuclear‑grade engineering documentation including 3D models, drawings, BOMs, calculations, and test reports in compliance with standards requirement.
  • Ability to handle nuclear and industrial standards applicable to actuators and fluid power systems, including ASME NQA‑1, CE, IEC etc (as applicable), and relevant ISO standards.

• Ability to work independently on electrical actuators for nuclear industry applications, ensuring drawings, specifications, and documentation comply with ASME NQA‑1 and RCC‑E requirements and applicable customer specifications.

• Ability to independently execute Quality Management System activities, including FMEA, Critical to Quality (CTQ) identification, and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) activities for nuclear products, in alignment with ASME NQA‑1 and IEC requirements.

• Ability to independently identify nuclear qualification and test requirements and coordinate with external nuclear‑approved test laboratories, including preparation of test plans, technical clarifications, and documentation support.

• Independently design and develop hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic routine and life‑test rigs used for nuclear product testing, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and IEC functional requirements, with limited guidance.

• Independently execute product evaluation and endurance testing as per applicable IEC, RCC‑E, and customer‑specified nuclear standards, including test data collection and reporting.

  • Individually should be able to undertake the complete evaluation including endurance test as per the relevant standard and specifications. Also, shall be to work independently in the product testing lab.
  • Handle innovation and continuous improvement projects for the product and process.
  • Support customer interactions, technical reviews, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance on selection, sizing, and integration of actuators and fluid power components.
  • Should be able to drive the Safety programmes, and other programmes deployed globally

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 3–6 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in nuclear or other highly regulated industries (oil & gas, aerospace, defense).

• Working knowledge of electric actuators, gears, and mechatronic integration for safety‑critical applications.

• Proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Edge, AutoCAD) and experience with PLM systems under strict configuration control.

• Familiarity with FEA tools, FMEA, and nuclear design verification techniques.

• Good technical communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail required for nuclear compliance.

• Experience working in a multinational or cross‑cultural engineering environment is an advantage.

• Working experience in design of aluminium, plastic, and other casted parts for regulated industries.

• Practical knowledge of material properties, material selection, and compatibility considerations for nuclear service conditions.

• Hands‑on experience in root cause analysis, failure analysis, and corrective action implementation.

• Exposure to ASME NQA‑1, CE, IEC, ISO, or equivalent nuclear and industrial standards.

• Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or structured problem‑solving methodologies.
