Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000 / year


Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer (HVAC, MEP Consulting) Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida (Onsite, fixed location) Employment Type: W2 Compensation: $80,000–$110,000 base salary (negotiable for strong candidates; may exceed range for Professional Engineers) Schedule: Flexible hours (exact schedule not specified) Travel: None specified
About the opportunityAn established MEP consulting engineering team is adding an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer to support active building projects across commercial, healthcare, education, multifamily, residential, and similar markets.
Why this role exists nowThe team has ongoing project demand and is adding a production-capable mechanical contributor who can step into active work with minimal ramp-up.
Responsibilities
HVAC and mechanical design production

  • Design HVAC and mechanical systems for building projects
  • Prepare construction documents, plans, and technical specifications
  • Support multi-story building work with repeatable system layout logic


Engineering calculations and analysis

  • Perform heat load calculations and energy analysis


Cross-discipline coordination

  • Coordinate designs with electrical and plumbing disciplines


Construction administration support

  • Review shop drawings and assist with construction-phase needs

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • 4 or more years of experience in an MEP or consulting engineering environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (skills may be evaluated)
  • Working knowledge of HVAC system design and building systems
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven consulting environment


Preferred qualifications

  • Revit experience strongly preferred
  • Professional Engineer license or Engineer in Training (may impact compensation)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
