Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer within the Mechanical Aircraft Systems group. This position is perfect for you if you want to contribute to and help deliver a clean sheet amphibious aircraft design.

Main responsibilities:

  • Own the design, development and certification of mechanical systems, including: flight control mechanisms, landing gear mechanisms, hardware installation, structural integration etc

  • Provide expert consultation to help resolve technical challenges across the organization. In our very small engineering team, each engineer is expected to take ownership and accountability to promote progress and achieve objectives

  • Source, meet and select the best partners for development and production of the mechanical system’s components

Your profile:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Aviation industry experience, preferably as part of an EASA Part 21 Design Organisation (minimum 5 years)

  • Experience with mechanical systems development

  • Accountability to resolve issues and meet agreed milestones with minimal supervision.

  • System troubleshooting in the actual aircraft

  • Working knowledge of FAA & EASA certification requirements (FAR/CS 23), including airworthiness and operational requirements preferred

  • Experience with mechanical design, modelling and analysis in relevant CAD systems, including PLM and configuration tools

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

  • Safety-oriented attitude

  • Work in a structured and organised manner

  • Able to take initiative, ownership and responsibility
