Mechanical & Electrical Project Coordinator

A leading construction team is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Coordinator to support a large, complex institutional project This role focuses specifically on the mechanical and electrical scopes, supporting planning, coordination, execution, and closeout.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll be a key part of a collaborative team, ensuring seamless integration of M&E systems from early coordination through commissioning and turnover.

The Role

  • Support planning and coordination of on-site M&E activities
  • Maintain and update M&E schedules
  • Manage RFIs, shop drawings, change documentation, and closeout materials
  • Assist with review of monthly M&E progress draws
  • Prepare M&E change orders and track CCNs/SIs
  • Coordinate M&E procurement alongside the project team
  • Facilitate M&E coordination and resolve clashes with trades
  • Maintain up-to-date drawings and specifications
  • Assist with M&E coordination meetings
  • Coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of fire, life safety, and building systems
  • Support QA/QC for M&E installations
  • Track deficiencies and support occupancy and turnover documentation
  • Provide ongoing support to trades, commissioning agents, and third-party consultants

What They’re Looking For

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as an M&E Project Coordinator
  • Strong experience on institutional, hospital, or medical projects
  • Solid understanding of M&E systems, drawings, specifications, and construction processes
  • Experience with RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and contract documentation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with trades, consultants, and clients
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project
  • Experience with Procore considered a strong asset
  • BIM experience including Navisworks, Revit, and clash detection is an asset
