Modern Packaging seeks a Mechanical Drafter responsible for supporting the Mechanical Engineering group with regards to basic designs as well as documentation.

Principle duties:

• Create 2D documentation with appropriate dimensions and tolerances from 3D model
• Basic design work under engineering or management supervision
• Prepares proper bills of material based on design
• Create and manage the assembly documentation for all machine projects on the production floor
• Support Technical Writing Personnel with creation of manuals
• Assist Aftermarket team with identifying components on equipment, updating manual drawings, and updating Bill of Materials.

These components, along with local and national compensation survey data, contribute to determining a candidate’s potential starting rate of pay. Total compensation includes your base salary, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan with company match. There is no waiting period for benefits – you are eligible on your first day of employment. Base Salary Range: $30-$40 per hour.

Requirements/Capabilities:

• Solid understanding of drafting
• Basic understanding of design
• Ability to work independently and with limited day-to-day supervision

Experience/Training:

• 2+ yrs experience Manufacturing

• 1+ yrs experience Mechanical Drafting

• Experience working with Autodesk Inventor preferred

Education:

• High School Diploma

• Technical Trade School or Associate Degree preferred
