The Opportunity

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Project Leader to coordinate our mechanical design team across automation and robotics projects in Boston. This role blends deep technical expertise with team leadership, keeping projects on track while developing the people around you. If you are comfortable owning timelines, driving cross-functional collaboration, and rolling up your sleeves when needed, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate the mechanical design team across automation and robotics projects, monitoring progress and replanning activities as needed to keep things on track.
  • Collaborate with other design departments to plan and set up projects in line with contractual requirements.
  • Develop complete technical proposals covering implementation timelines and costs, coordinating across company functions.
  • Support production during assembly and testing phases, identifying technical changes and managing design updates.
  • Manage, train, and develop a team of collaborators in line with company guidelines and HR policies.
  • Produce technical documentation and ensure the delivery of operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in organizing Kick-off Meetings and managing design reviews with clients.
  • Provide technical training to customer personnel on machine architecture.

You Should Have

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing mechanical projects, preferably in automation and robotics.
  • Strong technical background paired with team management skills.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks and SolidEdge.
  • Solid knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
