This on-site position is located at Bosch San Luis Potosí, with a functional connection to the BGSW Guadalajara engineering organization.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to support the development and industrialization of automotive transmission solenoids. In this role, you will contribute to mechanical design activities under the guidance of senior engineers, supporting product development from concept through series production.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams in design, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to ensure robust, manufacturable, and high-quality solenoid solutions for automotive transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical design of transmission solenoids and subcomponents, including housings, armatures, springs, and mechanical interfaces.
  • Create and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings according to Bosch standards.
  • Support translation of system and customer requirements into mechanical design features and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as drawings, BOMs, tolerance analyses, and design changes in the PLM system.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles with guidance from senior engineers to support high-volume production.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA/DRBFM discussions, and validation activities.
  • Support validation testing, analysis of results, and documentation of findings.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers during industrialization and ramp-up.
  • Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for design or production issues
  • Contribute to cost, quality, and standardization improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or engineering support roles.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in CAD tools for 3D modeling and 2D drawings (NX preferred).
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Interest in automotive product development and electromechanical components.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering quality tools (e.g., DFMEA, DVP&R).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Preferred

  • Internship or project experience in automotive or electromechanical components.
  • Exposure to transmission systems, solenoids, valves, or actuators.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
  • Basic exposure to mechanical simulation or validation testing.
  • Spanish and/or German proficiency.
