MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – AUTOMATED EQUIPMENT
This is a machine design role inside a well-established OEM focused on high-speed automated packaging systems.
They are looking for experienced mechanical design engineers who have designed horizontal or vertical form fill and seal systems, cartoners, or case packing equipment within an OEM environment. They need engineers who already understand packaging machinery architecture, motion systems, and how to design equipment that gets built and shipped to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design horizontal and vertical form fill and seal systems, cartoners, and case packing machinery
• Develop full machine assemblies and subsystems from concept through detailed design
• Create 3D models, production drawings, and BOMs
• Collaborate with controls, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure designs are build-ready
• Support machine build, debug, and internal run-off
• Apply sound mechanical design principles for high-speed motion, servo-driven systems, pneumatics, and changeover mechanisms

REQUIRED BACKGROUND
• Experience designing HFFS or VFFS equipment, cartoning systems, or case packers within an OEM packaging machinery environment
• Direct machine design experience, not plant maintenance or service-only roles
• Stable career history with demonstrated tenure. No pattern of short-term roles under three years
• Strong understanding of automated equipment architecture, motion systems, and mechanical integration
• Proficiency in 3D CAD for machinery design
