
You will be the Mechanical Engineering Design Sr supporting development and production of active and passive optical sensor systems.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Sr, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
* Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
* Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
* Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
* Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering related field
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and demonstrated knowledge of industry practices
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis
Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software
Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
Have the ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams
Have the ability to perform opto-mechanical layout and tolerancing
Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
Experience with phases of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.
Experience with optomechanical layout, design, build, integration, and/or troubleshooting.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
