of Role
• Interpret customer specifications, produce CAD models and supporting drawings, product documentation, design and fabricate tools; design and build equipment and prototypes; design and conduct experiments; design, gather and evaluate test results; produce test reports and other documentation.
• MUST be willing to work at Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah

• Instructs, directs, and checks the work of less experienced employees;
• Provides coaching and feedback to less experienced employees;
• Is a team member on a major project or several smaller projects;
• Prepares detailed specifications for work that is completed;
• Responsible for the completion of a phase of a larger project;
• Eventually may lead projects with small budgets or limited duration;
• Identifies ways to reduce product, process, or project costs;
• Knows and applies the concepts, practices and procedures in a technical specialty area;
• Mastery of basic systematic/ creative problem solving tools/skills;
• Basic understanding of lean product development tools and methods;

Skills, Abilities and Mastery (Responsibility Matrix):
Product & Process Documentation:
• Reads and interprets customer specifications and drawings for moderately complex products;
• Works independently to create and modify complex product and process designs using appropriate design specifications and trade-off curves;
• Prepares 3D/2D CAD models and drawings for new parts and assemblies based on customer needs using Solidworks;
• Develops product and process solution detail, standards, and associated documentation including trade-off curves;
• Understands and applies knowledge capture and reuse methods;
• Develops and updates regulatory and quality compliance documentation as needed.
Testing and Evaluation:
• Performs tests, inspections, and other evaluations of products and processes based on defined procedures and standards and create procedures and standards for these activities;
• Creates and programs applications using appropriate software;
• Performs failure analyses of production line and field products;
• Contributes to resolution of manufacturability issues with production floor and Manufacturing;
• Engineering for new products;
• Works independently to create test reports;
• Contributes to development of new manufacturing processes.
Technical Support:
• Serves as a subject matter expert in appropriate discipline area to provide technical support to engineers, designers, sales agents, customers and production;
• Works with suppliers to get samples, order parts, and explore cost saving ideas;
• Trains production employees on products, processes, procedures, and equipment.
Administrative Activities:
• Creates and assembles BOM, routing and other product attributes for all products designed to support PLM documentation and procedures and identify improvements where necessary;
• Understands and follows all organization and department safety policies and procedures and identify improvements where necessary;
• Issues tooling and materials purchasing requests;
• Performs quality investigations and provides recommendations to address issues.
Coaching / Mentoring:
• Provides coaching and feedback to less experienced technicians and designers;
• Conducts training and technical orientation for new employees
Qualifications
Must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of industrial experiences in related field;
• Demonstrated capability to read and interpret engineering drawings;
• At least 2 years of experiences in Mechanical design, experience with 3D solid modeling software (Solidworks) is a plus;
• Demonstrated understanding and practical application of electrical, thermal and basic metallurgical knowledge;
• Good presentation skills;
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment;
• Demonstrated capability to interact with design team, CART, account managers and sales to optimize a system solution for the customer;
• Perform mental tasks such as critical decision making, organizing many topics, prioritizing work to align with business objectives and exercising good judgement;
• Ability to communicate and interact with suppliers and customers effectively;
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Fluent in English both verbal and written.
