This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.

The MEPF Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) in the GECs is comprised of cross-functional teams, that contribute to the development of innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative way of doing computational design.

Role accountabilities:

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Develop detailed design for HVAC, hydronics, compressed air, controls and building automation systems.
  • Perform load calculations, pressure drops, and energy modeling to ensure systems are efficient and compliant.
  • Ensure designs meet local codes, sustainability targets, and safety standards.
  • Use 2D and 3D drafting/modelling software tools to create layouts, schematics, details and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Build proficiency in REVIT and other software used in the design process.
  • Perform the tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as directed by senior engineers.
  • Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking.
  • Preparing all the necessary drawings for the specific phase of projects (reports, 2D plans, schematics, equipment sections and elevations, connection details, schedules etc.).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and calculation software.
  • Medium English language skills.
  • Eager to learn new capabilities and skills.
  • Knowledge of ASME standards is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for process equipment. Experience in buildings (HVAC), system integrators and manufacturing may also be considered.
  • Candidate to have problem solving skills, creativity, to show proactivity and analytical skills.
  • Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
