We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design and CAD Specialist to review engineering models and drawings, assess manufacturability, and develop realistic design scenarios. The work combines 3D modelling, GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM, engineering mechanics, and manufacturing knowledge Previous AI experience is not required.

CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, output-based assignment

COMMITMENT: Flexible workload with minimum weekly task submission requirements

LOCATIONS: Fully remote - GLOBAL

PROCESS: Application review, technical assessment, and client evaluation

NOTES: Contributors are paid per accepted task. Selected experts should be available to begin within 24–48 hours after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical parts, assemblies, and 3D CAD models.
• Evaluate engineering drawings for accuracy and manufacturing readiness.
• Assess the correct application of GD&T and tolerance specifications
• Recommend improvements based on Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Analyse tolerance stack-ups, fit, function, and assembly constraints.
• Develop realistic mechanical design and manufacturing scenarios.
• Review geometric representations of components and systems.
• Explain engineering mechanics, tribology, and design decisions clearly.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI-generated engineering content.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Professional experience in mechanical or production design.
• Strong proficiency with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar
• Practical knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM.
• Experience creating production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
