About the Role

Are you an experienced automotive technician or mechanic looking to transition out of the shop and into a professional office environment? We are seeking a Mechanical Claims Analyst to join a growing customer support team. This role allows you to leverage your automotive knowledge and repair expertise to evaluate vehicle repair claims, assist customers and repair facilities, and make coverage determinations based on warranty guidelines.

This is an excellent opportunity for automotive professionals who enjoy problem-solving, customer interaction, and using their technical expertise in a less physically demanding setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, investigate, and process vehicle mechanical claims accurately and efficiently.
  • Evaluate repair recommendations and determine warranty coverage eligibility using established guidelines.
  • Communicate with automotive dealerships, repair facilities, and vehicle owners via phone and email.
  • Explain claim approvals, denials, and next steps in a clear and professional manner.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while resolving questions and concerns.
  • Utilize internal systems to document claim activity and maintain accurate records.
  • Navigate multiple software platforms and monitors while assisting customers.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure consistent claim handling and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing

The majority of incoming calls will involve:

  • Reviewing repair requests from dealerships and determining whether repairs are covered under a vehicle service contract.
  • Explaining claim decisions, approvals, and denials to vehicle owners.
  • Guiding customers through the claims process and explaining the steps required to obtain coverage determinations.
  • Applying automotive and mechanical expertise to assess repair needs and recommend appropriate next steps.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of automotive mechanic, technician, or related mechanical experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Ability to discuss technical automotive concepts with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Prior customer service experience with a proven ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE Certification.
  • Experience using labor guides such as AllData or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostic scanners and scan tools.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Previous experience in warranty administration, claims processing, service advising, or technical support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
