Job Description

Our client, a leading Building Services Consultant, is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join their team based in Bray, with hybrid working included in the package The successful candidate will work on a range of educational upgrade projects, providing mechanical design expertise and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of building services design and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed mechanical designs for building services systems across educational projects.
2. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
3. Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design solutions.
4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design integration.
5. Perform calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
7. Assist in project planning and provide technical input during all phases.
8. Review and approve mechanical submittals and shop drawings.
9. Support project delivery through regular client and site meetings.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical design within building services.
3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation tools.
4. Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient systems.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Full, clean driving license (site visits required).
