Job Description

To perform routine electronic, mechanical, or composite assembly tasks under a moderate amount of supervision.

Machine & Equipment used:

Soldering irons, soldering aids, , skill saws, and other applicable hand tools, component bending tools, torches, vacuum equipment, RF induction heating equipment, cold test equipment, spot welding, laser welding and heliarc welding equipment, brazing equipment, measuring calipers, voltmeters, electronic multi-meter, heat guns, glue guns, tie wrap guns, crimpers, crimping machines, etc.

  • Performs routine electronic, mechanical, or composite production assembly operations following specific verbal and written instructions.
  • Performs routine electronic, mechanical, or composite assembly process tasks such as welding, wiring, brazing, soldering, gel coating, painting, sanding, cutting etc.
  • Makes routine mechanical, electronic or composite adjustments and alignments.
  • Reads and interprets routine assembly schematics and blueprints.
  • May perform related electronic, mechanical, or composite assembly duties utilizing standard assembly tools plus any specific tools and fixtures as required.
  • Composite assemblers may be required to kit foam, cut material layup panel, operate oven, drill and grind, panel surface prep, hardware installation, packing, MSF-Beam prep, sandblasting, drill and grind, layup, trimming, crimping, testing, and packing.
  • May perform rework resulting from drawing change notices.
  • May work in a clean room environment.
  • Checks own work for conformance to workmanship.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical prints, at an advance level.
  • Ability to conduct 60% of assembly tasks independently.
  • Ability to use of specific hand tools and equipment to measure mechanical assemblies independently.
  • Proficiency in using all computer tools used by assemblers: Looking up drawings, RN, databases, etc.
  • Basic Excel spreadsheets.
  • Following certifications may be required: Vacuum Leak checking, GTAW/TIG, RF Braze, Cold match/cold test, Laser welding, Torch Brazing, Resistance spot welding, Cascade furnace control, Grid Blast
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to find own solutions/remove roadblocks for successful completion of tasks.
  • Must have the ability to follow safety practices.
  • Visual attention to detail
  • Good eye/hand coordination
  • Ability to work on a team
  • High School Diploma or GED required, technical certificate related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing assembly
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to use microscope for extended periods of time for electronic or mechanical assembler.
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • Note this position will be located at our Irving location but will be ask to transfer to our Plano location.
