Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary

OPEX Corporation is seeking a full-time Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ.

This position is responsible for assembling and building industry-leading mail automation equipment using assembly drawings, hand tools, and power tools. We are looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals who take pride in producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Due to business needs and production demands, overtime and weekend work may be required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Assemble and build mail automation equipment according to engineering specifications.
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Identify and install mechanical components including bearings, pulleys, springs, gears, and related hardware.
• Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet required specifications and standards.
• Follow established safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
• Support additional production and assembly activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, automotive repair, construction, military maintenance, or a related hands-on field.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Experience reading assembly drawings, blueprints, or schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical assembly issues.
• Technical school, vocational training, or related mechanical training.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical components and assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, or mechanical instructions.
• Ability to recognize common machine components, including pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears.
• Ability to identify and work with hardware such as screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Ability to maneuver throughout the work area, including confined spaces around equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach overhead and forward while assembling equipment.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.

Hourly rate $17-20, based on experience.
