As a Mechanical and Process Commissioning Engineer working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Semiconductor sector. This job is based in a state-of-the-art global facility in Malta, New York.

You will be responsible for administering the client’s commissioning program, driving the systematic transition of complex mechanical and process piping systems from construction completion to operational readiness. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a proven track record of understanding intricate system dynamics, managing multi-discipline vendor startups, executing detailed cause-and-effect controls testing, and ensuring a flawless handover to the client's operations team

This role ensures that complex mechanical and process infrastructure—Waste Water Treatment, High Purity Chemical Delivery, Chemical Bulk Storage and Delivery systems, Bulk and Specialty Gas Delivery systems, Make up AHU's, Exhaust (Acid, Solvent) systems, Process Cooling Water systems—is verified

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning (energization, startup, and testing).
  • Develop and execute the Master Commissioning Plan.
  • Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Administer a rigorous prerequisite tracking system to ensure all necessary quality, safety, and construction documentation are complete before a system or asset is energized.
  • Write and execute Functional Acceptance Testing derived directly from the design sequence of operations and process flow diagrams.
  • Lead extensive "Cause and Effect" testing alongside automation & controls integrator to validate that control loops, safety interlocks, and emergency shutdowns function perfectly, Lead/Standby, PID loop efficiency, dynamically stage loading (pumps, chillers, fans, heat exchangers) with system demand.
  • Review and validate critical equipment reports, including pump shaft alignment records, vibration analysis data, and fan/pump performance curves.
  • Audit and sign off on Test and Balance (TAB) reports to verify hydronic and air systems meet engineered flow rates and pressure cascades.
  • Coordinate and witness vendor-led startups for specialized plant equipment (chillers, boilers, UHP gas/chemical skids, scrubbers) ensuring adherence to manufacturer protocols and safety requirements.
  • Trend and analyze system and equipment operation from SCADA historical trends of process variables and control values and conditions for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Lead the effort for the construction team for client operations turn over.
  • Document and track post turn over warranty claims during the warranty period.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

  • An ability to work proactively as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • The successful candidate will have time served mechanical trades experience or degree in Mechanical Engineering/Facilities Engineering.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
