We are seeking skilled Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our team in Portumna, Galway. As a Mechanical and Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our equipment and systems.

  • Assisting the mechanical engineer with mechanical design and maintenance tasks.
  • Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
  • Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
  • Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
  • Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
  • Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
  • Analyzes and repairs electro-mechanical equipment, fixtures, and process control equipment including processors, sensors, drives, instrumentations
  • Must be capable to display abilities in electrical safety and troubleshooting with present or previous certification
  • Must be capable of using a computer to support all appropriate work applications
  • Must be able to work additional hours and flexible hours (weekends) as needed, depending upon customer needs and requirements
  • Must be able to give input and support definable maintenance expectations and goals
  • Must be able to perform in a team environment, working well with the entire plant
  • Must possess and utilize effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support
  • Preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment
  • Maintain regulatory equipment for insurance inspection
  • Executes preventive maintenance, calibration and work orders according to plans
  • Troubleshoot process equipment, automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line
  • Provides inputs in to pm and calibration maintenance on production machinery
  • Supports Improvement projects
  • Monitors and coordinate with external contractors engage in preventive/ corrective action activities, calibration executions and other related works
  • Perform & verify cycle count for process equipment spare parts as needed and Conducts searches in order to locate misclassified inventory in the event of discrepancy after cycle count
  • Fills out necessary maintenance and calibration records to ensure adherence to applicable standards such as (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000, ISO 22000 and KORE)
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Maintenance / Fault finding / Repairs / installation to production plant, services and equipment, testing of site safety systems
  • Assist with the resolution of assets data issues to ensure Integrity & Quality of data
  • Provide progress update reports to assist management to determine the effectiveness of the assets surveys
  • Keep excellent record of assets surveyed
  • Works from written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
  • Maintain, commission, parameter and repair the electromechnical and electrotechnical parts of regulating and remote management equipment (remote meter readers)
  • Contribute to upgrading of installations (electrical, automated systems and regulation)
  • Identify mechanical or electrical malfunctions in the system or sub-assemblies
  • Carry out tests, measurements and adjustments prior to powering-up tests
  • Maintenance operations, supervision and technical support
  • Inventory control, parts/materials research

Qualifications:

  • Operate standard shop equipment including lathe, Bridgeport, drill press, welding
  • Three years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Support the other teams within the Engineering Department to meet the Engineering and site budget targets
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems
  • Perform general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repair and second level gates, doors, Performs light plumbing maintenance on occasion
