Mechanical Analyst
The ideal candidate will support Mosaic’s K3 operations by driving asset reliability and maintenance effectiveness for fixed and mobile mechanical equipment. This role leverages data analysis, field engagement, and reliability practices to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and ensure safe, reliable production.
What you’ll do?
Asset Reliability & Performance
Conduct and maintain route-based inspections using Condition Based Monitoring technologies such as Vibration, Infrared, Oil Analysis and Ultrasound.
Monitor, analyze, and improve reliability of rotating mechanical assets (conveyors, continuous miners, motors, pumps, gearboxes, auxiliary systems).
Identify failure trends and bad actors.
Create reports and submit notifications to planners and maintenance teams to repair equipment.
Field Engagement & Technical Support
Conduct regular inspections in an underground environment to validate equipment condition and maintenance effectiveness.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for complex mechanical issues.
Partner with tradespeople, supervisors, and operations to resolve recurring equipment failures.
Support commissioning and performance validation of new, repaired or modified equipment.
Data, Systems & Reporting
Maintain and track asset information in dedicated software applications and MS Excel.
Create reports based on findings and initiate workflow using CMMS.
Ensure accurate failure coding and work history to support data-driven decisions.
Track and communicate reliability improvement initiatives and results.
Safety, Health & Environment
Comply with all regulatory, corporate, and site safety standards.
Demonstrate Mosaic’s commitment to “Target Zero” by prioritizing safety in all activities.
Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Working Conditions
Combination of fieldwork and office-based analytical work.
Regular underground exposure in an operating potash mine.
Interaction with mobile equipment, confined spaces, and industrial environments.
What you’ll need:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technologist or equivalent discipline.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial systems.
Microsoft Office to assist with reporting, communicating, tracking, organizing and analyzing.
Knowledge of condition monitoring (vibration, oil analysis, thermography) is an asset.
Preference will be given to those with certifications in Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis (MLA or MLT), Infrared and Ultrasound.
Mining or Industrial experience preferred.
Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling workflows.
