Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance. Assist mechanics in preventative maintenance and ensure proper performance and safety of all district vehicles. Perform assigned work following established policies and procedures.
Clear and Valid Texas CDL (class B) with Passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements or ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment
Texas Education Certification for School bus drivers obtain one within 3 months of employment
Clear criminal background check
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs under supervision
Ability to operate equipment equipment and tools invoiced in vehicle repairs
Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
Ability to read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals
Ability to read instructions
Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
Ability to pass DOT alcohol and drug test and a yearly DOT physical exam
Ability to operate a school bus
One year experience in minor vehicle repair and maintenance
