Examples of duties

This position supervises mechanics and directs repairs, inspections, and maintenance for a wide range of equipment. As a Mechanic Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Team Supervision: Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and support mechanic training needs
• Repair Oversight: Guide troubleshooting and repairs on engines, electrical systems, and transmissions
• Equipment Inspection: Monitor vehicle inspections and verify compliance with standards
• Shop Management: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure tools and supplies are available
• Record Review: Review work orders, parts usage, and time charges for accuracy
• Problem Identification: Assist mechanics in diagnosing difficult equipment issues

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime may be required for seasonal requirements and operational needs.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class A CDL with the Air Brake restriction (L) and Manual restriction (E) removed.
• This position requires possession of an active Class 4 or Class 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
• This position requires one year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.

Additional Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• An active CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate.
