​​The Mechanic II installs, maintains, services and repairs sewing/production equipment. Ensures optimum functioning of production equipment through preventative maintenance. Supports the facility’s safety program; and adheres to OSHA guidelines.​

Associate Responsibilities

Installs and maintains sewing/production equipment by referencing equipment blueprint, diagrams or other resource materials to ensure proper installation and maintenance.

Ensures optimum functioning of equipment by performing weekly, monthly and yearly preventative maintenance activities.

Troubleshoots malfunctioning of equipment by observing, listening and testing the equipment.

Repairs sewing/production equipment. Repairs and/or replaces defective parts. Identifies parts needed for replacement and places orders as necessary.

Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Reports timely serious or repetitive equipment problems to Supervisor/Manager. Assists in tracking production equipment defect trends; and assists in identifying opportunities to resolve.

Assists in establishing, maintaining and communicating safety and preventative guidelines in the facility.

Completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures and OSHA regulations

Maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Assist in establishing and maintaining safety, housekeeping and preventive guidelines in assigned areas

Offers a customer service mentality as this position will work closely with sewing operators.

Acts as an informal resource for Mechanic I.

Provides back-up to building/facilities maintenance when needed.

Support Maintenance Department when necessary.

All other duties as assigned.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years of mechanic, machine maintenance or related experience. Preferably in a production environment.

Electrical, hydraulic and./or pneumatic experience required

PLC and/or robotics experience preferred.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and preventative maintenance programs.

Good problem solving, decision making and planning skills.

Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of associates within the facility.

Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
